Since many decades Paraguay is well-known as the paradies of shopping of South America.

 

The cities Asuncíon, Ciudad del Este, Pedro Juan Caballero and Encarnación distinguish themselves out of their irresistible offers, the good price and achievement relationship and the high quality.

 

In the shopping centres and specialist shops you can find amazingly broad pallet of different products.

It begins with a variety of arts up to works out of silver, precious perfumes and oriental carpets.

 

The Paraguayan currency is Guarani, divided into 100 Céntimos.

 

In the circulation are notes too 1.000, 5.000, 10.000, 50.000 and 100.000 Guaraníes, as well as coins too 10, 50, 100 and 500 Guaraníes.   In the year 2006 the exchange rate was attached by 7.500 Gs. for € 1,00.

 

In many business and all banks the international usual credit cards are accepted.

Banks also change traveller cheque.

 

Paraguay is one only Duty Free Shop.

Payments are either in the national currency or lately even more in US Dollar.

Inexpensive are cigarettes, alcohol, meat, gasoline, electronics and marks textiles.

Also all in the country produced articles are inexpensive.
